About

Richard England is a historian of science with interests in nineteenth century intellectual history, the religious reception of evolutionary ideas, and the relationship between science and religion. He has published in Osiris and the Journal of the History of Biology, and has edited two primary source collections. He is currently working on an edition of the papers of the Metaphysical Society (1869-80), and a monograph on the assimilation of science by Victorian Anglo-catholics.

In addition, for the past five years, he was director of Salisbury University's Honors program, and still serves on the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics committee and the Institutional Research committee of the National Collegiate Honors Council. He has also published several papers in their journal.
